Dr Lasitha Dharmasena, Lecturer, School of Information and Business Analytics, Deakin University.

Lasitha is a career academic and has authored 11 scholarly publications. Her research interests are focussed on applications of Statistical and Mathematical methods to Information Systems, thus, covering diverse areas such as nonparametric regression, nonparametric density estimation, software reliability analysis, quality control, sequential analysis, cluster analysis and bio-statistics. She has been successful in obtaining funds from industry and is an active member of ‘Stat‐work’, the consulting arm at the Department of Statistics in RMIT University. Lasitha has been involved in consultancy projects both within the academe as well as in industry, mainly in the area of design and analysis of surveys. She has taught various statistical subjects to students from the Business, Commerce, Engineering, Psychology, and Health Science streams at a variety of tertiary institutions including RMIT University, Monash College and University of Colombo in Sri Lanka. She is conversant with ‘learning‐how‐to‐learn’ strategies for students, language issues and cultural awareness, multiple intelligences, learning styles, measurement of educational objectives, testing and student evaluations based on learner‐centred approaches.
