Her research seeks to assist business, government, non-profit, and since recently cooperative organizations, to effectively manage, improve and innovate their knowledge intensive business processes, including those supported by advanced analytics. Olivera’s research and professional interests and capabilities lie at the intersect of Business Intelligence/Business Analytics, Business Process Management and human-centred Knowledge Management as well as innovative education. She has published over 130 fully refereed research conference and journal papers in all these areas. Olivera has over 22 years of experience, gained both in industry and academia. She is currently a member of several industry-based Communities of Practice in BI/Business Analytics and Business Process Management. Olivera is the former Co-Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Business Intelligence Research and a current Associate Editor of Business Analytics Journal. She is also Co-Chair of three mini-tracks at the Hawaii International Conferences on Systems Sciences (HICSS): (i) Business Analytics/Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing (ii) Business Process Management and (iii) Knowledge-Intensive Business Processes; the Community/Exhibit Chair of Business Intelligence Congress II, a Vice-Chair of the International ITI/2011 and ITI2012 Conferences and a member of the Academic board of Teradata University Network – the leading world-wide community of BI industry practitioners, thought leaders and academics. Olivera is actively engaged in research and teaching related activities designed to enhance collaboration among industry and academic partners and co-create new industry/university value networks.
